Healthwatch Norfolk engagement and intelligence report November 2021

In November 2021 we visited all three branches of Castle Partnership in Norwich – Gurney, Mile End, and Tuckswood Surgeries. From these visits we received 38 reviews with an average rating of 4.6 (out of five)....

On 12th November 2021 we visited Heathgate Medical Practice in Poringland to collect feedback from patients about their experiences with the practice. From this visit we collected 33 reviews with an average star rating of 4.5 (out of five). It is worth noting that most patients (24, 73%) gave the surgery the full five stars....
In February 2022 we visited Plowright Medical Centre in Swaffham to speak with members of the public about their experiences with health and social care in their area. From this visit we received 12 reviews, with an average rating of 4.7 (out of five)....
Healthwatch Norfolk wanted to understand the experience of patients with no fixed abode (NFA), their ability to access GP services, and what barriers they may face when it comes to accessing healthcare provision. We were especially interested in whether patients with no fixed abode are able to sign up to a new surgery....

Healthwatch Norfolk and the Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have compiled research that has demonstrated the need for changes to improve accessibility and consultations for patients who have hearing loss or are deaf. These changes would improve the patient experience of making and attending GP appointments. This Hearing Loss and Deaf Friendly Practice Charter suggests ways in which your GP practice can reduce variations in accessibility ensuring those affected by hearing loss are considered across all aspects of primary care activity, including making appointments, attending consultations, and receiving continued care....
In April 2022 we visited Southgates Medical Centre in King's Lynn to speak with patients about their experience with local health and social care services. From this visit we received 18 reviews for the medical centre with an average star rating of 4.0 (out of five)....
In May 2022 we visited Hingham Surgery to speak with patients about their experience with local health and social care services. From this visit we received 15 reviews for Hingham Surgery. In addition to this, we received two further reviews for the surgery from promoting our visit on local community groups on Facebook. All patients we received feedback from rated their overall experience with the surgery as five stars out of five. Alongside this we also asked patients to rate cleanliness, quality of care, staff attitudes, staff communication with you, and waiting time. Although not compulsory, the ratings we did receive were all five stars out of five....
