Work with us

We currently have the following vacancy:

Information and Signposting Officer

£24,496-£29,439 pa

Fulltime 37 hours per week.

Hearing from patients and users of health and social care to help improve services is at the core of what we do. As well as helping people find additional support and help, it also means we can understand the challenges and issues of Norfolk’s residents and decide where to prioritise our work.

We are looking for an Information and Signposting Officer to help us do this. We need someone who can listen to people’s health and care-related concerns, log them, and help them find services which can help them further.

They must be able to create, sustain and nurture strong relationships with organisations to support this signposting to make sure we are giving the people who need our advice effective and robust information.

The Information and Signposting Officer will also need to be able to interpret people’s feedback in a well-structured and visual way to make sure the information and data we gather can be shared and understood by everyone. Working alongside our project team to collate and analyse data, and help present these findings, is a key part of the job.

This is a key role for Healthwatch Norfolk supporting the whole team including project staff leading the projects, engagement staff going out to collect feedback, and the communications team telling the public what we discover. Spotting trends in data and helping the people of Norfolk is key to our work, and you will help to shape our priorities to share the voice of people living in the county with health and social care decision-makers.

Your work will help to ensure that we effectively represent the views and opinions of people in Norfolk about the commissioning and delivery of health and social care services. Some of the projects we have worked on recently include:

  • Three Hospitals Three Weeks- we analysed hundreds of responses from patients across three Norfolk hospitals.
  • Major Trauma Centre- we analysed public engagement responses around a proposal for a Major Trauma Centre in Norfolk.
  • Engagement in Care Homes- as part of a new project we analysed the views of care home residents and their families.

Become a volunteer

Volunteers help us in a number of ways.

They may come along to engagement events with us to talk to people about their health and care experiences.

If they have specialist knowledge, we may ask them to attend meetings on our behalf and then report back on what is discussed.

Or you may help us with reviewing documents that are submitted to us for feedback.

We work with many of our volunteers on a project-to-project basis so they help us to be as effective as possible while contributing to improving health and social care in the county.
