Simon Rowe, Director at Radio West Norfolk in partnership with Ward Gethin Archer Solicitors and Your Local Paper, has successfully organised the fifth Annual Christmas Toy Appeal, ensuring that children in West Norfolk, including those in hospital, will receive a gift to brighten their Christmas morning.
Among the 40 organisations benefiting from the appeal was The QEH. The hospital received more than 400 toys, which will be distributed to young patients to ensure they have a little extra joy this Christmas, even if they are unable to be at home with their families. The donations will provide comfort to children in hospital and surrounding areas, bringing a smile to their faces and making Christmas morning just a little bit brighter.
This year’s toy appeal donated an impressive £28,000 worth of toys in total to the 40 organisations. Thanks to the kindness of residents across the region, hundreds of children, many of whom are facing difficult circumstances, will wake up to presents on Christmas Day.
Ange Howling, Deputy Chief Nurse at The QEH, expressed her gratitude for the incredible support from the local community. She said: “The generosity of the people in West Norfolk has been truly heartwarming.
“Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to donate by buying an extra gift this Christmas.
“It is amazing to see so many people come together to ensure that children, particularly those in hospital, don’t miss out on the magic of Christmas. We are so proud to see the impact this appeal has on children who need it most.”
Simon Rowe, Director at Radio West Norfolk also highlighted the importance of bringing joy to children in difficult circumstances. He said: “It is a privilege to organise this appeal every year. The community spirit shown this year has been overwhelming, and we are proud to work alongside Ward Gethin Archer and Your Local Paper to help ensure that children, especially those in hospital, wake up to a present on Christmas morning.”
This year’s toy appeal is a heartwarming reminder of the power of community and generosity. The donations have made it possible for children in hospitals, including those at The QEH, to experience the joy of Christmas, no matter their situation.
