Norfolk County Council: Transport Plus

Community transport schemes pick you up at your house, or the nearest safe place and provide a door-to-door service.

Find your local transport services in Norfolk by clicking https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/public-transport/travel-norfolk-car-scheme and then press the ‘Find transport in your area’ button.

Once you enter your postcode, a list of available services including a telephone number will appear. You will then be able to call and book your transport.

Patient Transport Services (Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital)

Non-emergency patient transport services, known as PTS, takes patients on non-urgent journeys to or from somewhere providing NHS healthcare, or between different NHS healthcare providers.

Eligible patients are those:

  • Where their medical condition means they need the skills or support of PTS staff on/after the journey and/or where it would be detrimental to the patient’s condition or recovery if they were to travel another way.
  • Where the patient’s medical condition impacts on their mobility to such an extent that they would be unable to access healthcare and/or it would be detrimental to the patient’s condition or recovery to travel another way.

The NHS Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service for Norfolk (excluding Great Yarmouth and Waveney) is provided by ERS Medical. Patients and carers in Norfolk can book journeys with ERS telephone number: 0333 240 4100.

The NHS Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service for Norfolk (excluding Great Yarmouth and Waveney) is provided by ERS Medical. Patients and carers in Norfolk can book journeys with ERS telephone number: 0333 240 4100.

Patient Transport Services (James Paget University Hospital)

Telephone the Patient Transport Booking Centre on 0300 999 6666 (and ask for option 1) within two weeks of your appointment. Please give at least 48 hours notice.

 You will be asked a series of questions to see if you are eligible for Non Emergency Patient Transport.

Centre 81: Travel to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

Centre 81 offer transport to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for anyone living within the borough of Great Yarmouth. A driver will collect you from home and take you to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. If required, they will wait for you whilst you attend your appointment and then bring you safely home.

This service has been designed for day patients. However, if your needs are different please call them on 014933 332253 and they will be happy to try and help.

West Norfolk Community Transport

West Norfolk Community Transport offers safe, affordable door to door transport services for people who are unable to access public transport due to location, age or mobility issues.

The webpage includes links to other Kings Lynn based transport services including: the Go To Town bus service, Pick Me Up, Go To Town, King’s Lynn Shop Mobility nad Flexibus.

Flexibus

The Swaffham Flexibus+ travels to/from Swaffham and villages in West Norfolk and Breckland.

TITAN

TITAN (Travel Independence Training across Norfolk) offers young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support to help them to become confident independent travellers.

It is available for those aged 10 (Year 6) to 25, both in school and the community, helping them transition to travelling independently.
