Experiences of sexual health and contraceptive services in Norfolk

From January to March 2020, Healthwatch Norfolk was asked to support Norfolk County Council in a review of the sexual health and contraceptive services it commissions, to ensure they meet population need, improve patient choice and promote self-care.

We carried out an online survey which received interest from 276 people, of which there were 228 usable responses.

Overall, people said they had a good experience using the services, but felt the physical location of services was important so they were close to home, and would like online options for things like information and advice, STI/HIV testing kits and contraception, with options and flexibility of services being key.

For most people, the hardest thing is knowing where to go for whatever service or information you need
