Alex Stewart, Healthwatch Norfolk chief executive, said:

There is undoubtedly work to do to improve patient care at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but we do also note the time-lag between the start of this inspection and the publication of the report. There have also been improvements around emergency care and improving the discharge process since the CQC visit.

From a Healthwatch Norfolk perspective, the last few months have been incredibly productive in sharing patient feedback with the hospital. We are enjoying a constructive two-way dialogue with the NNUH who are taking on board what we are hearing from patients, committing to us coming in regularly to talk to those being cared for at the hospital to get independent feedback, and looking at the issues we are flagging with them in a solution-led way.

Equally, there is still a lot of progress to be made. At Healthwatch Norfolk, we will do all we can to help with this for patients, their families, and carers. Please tell us your feedback with us about the hospital whether it is around improvements that are needed or examples of good practice, and we are sharing this with those at senior levels of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Patients can contact us by phone, online or by email, or chat to us face-to-face so we can continue to hear their experiences, and we will continue to work with the hospital team to monitor and enhance care based on what we hear.
