New nursing scholarship applications open

Applications are now open for a new nursing scholarship being delivered at the James Paget University Hospital, Gorleston (JPH).

For the first time the hospital is offering support to people looking to study nursing who wish to then continue working in the local community. The full cost of university tuition fees for a degree in Adult Nursing will be covered for those who commit to working as a Registered Nurse at the JPH for a period of two years following qualification.

The JPH has partnered with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and the University of Suffolk (UOS) to offer the scholarship. Individuals will need to separately apply and secure a place on the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing course at UEA or UOS, starting September 2025.  They will then be given ongoing support and clinical placements at the hospital during the course of their studies. Upon qualification and a satisfactory interview a guaranteed offer of employment will be made.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 29 June 2025.
