Professor William Pope has been announced as the new Chairman Designate of the proposed NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board (ICB).
The Norfolk and Suffolk ICB will go live next April, following the planned merger of Suffolk and North East Essex ICB and Norfolk and Waveney ICB. It will be responsible for funding NHS services across both areas.
Professor Pope is currently leading both commissioning bodies. He has been Chairman of Suffolk and North East Essex ICB since it was established in 2022 and took over as Interim Chairman of Norfolk and Waveney ICB earlier this year.
Commenting on his appointment, Professor Pope said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Chairman designate of the proposed NHS Norfolk and Suffolk ICB.
“Having worked in the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System since 2019, and more recently across Norfolk and Waveney, I understand the many challenges that exist for our communities.
“I look forward to working with our partners and staff to help the new ICB drive forward positive changes and oversee commissioning of great services for our communities.”
