In April 2024, we visited The Maltings Care Home in Fakenham to speak to the people living there about their care experiences. It is part of a programme of targeted engagement which sees us visit care homes across Norfolk.
The Maltings (formerly known as Oakwoods) provides residential care for up to 43 people aged 65 or over. From this visit, we received four reviews for the home – three from residents and one from a family member. These reviews have an average star rating of 4.25 out of 5.
The people we spoke too praised the staff for being kind and hard-working. Two people said they they appreciated it when the homes organised visits from a doctor, and one family member was hopeful of a bright future with the new owners.
