Dental provision in Norfolk October 2020

This report highlights the signposting queries we have received regarding dental services in Norfolk since January 2020 and the information people have been requesting regarding dental services. It also details reviews of dental practices our engagement team have collected, and investigations carried out by the Healthwatch Norfolk team into dentist’s website and the availability of dental practices taking on new NHS patients.

From January to September 2020, we have received 119 signposting queries asking for information on how to access dental services in Norfolk. In comparison, we only received 16 dentist enquiries from January to September 2019. These figures include enquiries from people looking for emergency treatment and people looking for an ongoing dentist.

I cannot smile as I hate my teeth but I cannot find a NHS dentist in King’s Lynn. I can’t afford private care. My teeth hurt and it affects my life but I can’t do anything about it.”
