The first of a new series of articles written by the CEO of Healthwatch Norfolk, Alex Stewart, has been published in the Eastern Daily Press newspaper.
Each month Alex will be guiding EDP readers through the changing national and local health and social care landscape, as the Government puts its 10-Year Health Plan for the NHS into action. The NHS is currently going through a period of huge change, as are local authorities within our region. Alex’s articles will aim to assist the readers in navigating an increasingly complex health and social care system, while exploring and explaining how the current era of change may impact them.
The column will also take a look at some of the pressing issues facing patients at the moment, including access to dentistry, the opportunities and challenges created by an increasingly digital NHS, as well as local developments, such as the merger of Integrated Care Boards in Norfolk and Suffolk and the building of two new hospitals in Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn.
The first article in the new series was published on Wednesday 25 March and provides some context around the 10-Year Health Plan and what it aims to achieve, as well as background about Healthwatch Norfolk, our role and how patients can influence change through the process of leaving feedback about their experiences.
