The new Executive Managing Directors responsible for running the three acute hospitals that make up the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group have been announced.
Jonathan Gardner, Shane Gordon and Michelle Arrowsmith have been appointed into the leadership roles at the James Paget University Hospital, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn, respectively.
Dr Shane Gordon

Dr Shane Gordon will join the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Trust on 8 December following a six-month secondment as Executive Managing Director of the James Paget University Hospital. He previously served as Director of Strategy, Research and Innovation at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
Shane is also a founder member of the East of England Clinical Senate Council and a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Surgeons.
Jonathan Gardner

Jonathan Gardner will be leaving Whittington Health Trust, where he served as Chief Strategy, Digital and Improvement Officer, to take over at the James Paget Hospital from 12 January.
Prior to his role at Whittington Health Trust, Jonathan worked on cancer programmes and strategic development projects at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has also worked at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, held several roles at the Department of Health as well as working as a management consultant and a conference organiser.
Michelle Arrowsmith

Michelle Arrowsmith will join the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn Trust on 19 January.
Michelle has worked as a dietitian in the NHS and held senior strategic and operational management roles with the NHS in England, as well as healthcare organisations in New Zealand and Australia.
Previously Chief Strategy and Delivery Officer and Deputy Chief Executive for NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board, she has also served as chief operating officer of South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust and as director of operations at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
