Exciting new challenge for Healthwatch Hero

A former winner of one of our Healthwatch Heroes awards is taking up an exciting new challenge.

Tony Edwards worked with us on our My Views Matter project when we visited residential care homes for people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

He made contact with us through our ongoing work with About With Friends on the project, and his knowledge and ability at chatting to residents and their families helped us gather some really rich feedback.

Still a member of About With Friends, we were delighted to hear about his latest challenge. He is going to be working for the organisation’s new Friends Bistro which has just opened in the Seaview building at Cromer’s North Lodge Park.

It will be staffed by qualified chefs and caterers who will work with some of the charity’s members with learning disabilities to teach them culinary and hospitality skills leading to them getting qualifications.

Tony is one of the first people to be trained there. He will work alongside head chef Reis Khalil in the kitchen as well as learning front-of-house skills like taking bookings and serving at tables.

All of us at Healthwatch Norfolk wish Tony the best with his new challenge.
