Norfolk and Waveney Mind has offered support to those affected by the closure of Access Community Trust, after it entered administration last week.
Access Community Trust ceased operating with immediate effect on Wednesday 25 February, including the closure of the STEAM House Cafés in King’s Lynn and Gorleston, which offered important local mental health support.
The Lowestoft-based charity was founded in 1975 and provided supported housing and wellbeing services for vulnerable people.
A statement on the Norfolk and Waveney Mind website reads: “This is a significant and distressing situation for the people who relied on these services, for the staff affected, and for our wider community. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted during what is an understandably unsettling time.
“As Norfolk and Waveney’s leading mental health support charity, we want to reassure our community that we are here to offer support where we can.
“Norfolk and Waveney Mind continues to provide a wide range of mental health and wellbeing services across the region, and anyone affected by the recent closures who is looking for alternative sources of support is welcome to explore the options we offer. Our teams are here to help you find the most appropriate support within our charity.”
