Preparing for older age

Share your experiences of preparing for older age in Norfolk.

Are you 55 or over and living in Norfolk? We want to hear your views on preparing for getting older.

Healthwatch Norfolk is working with Norfolk County Council’s Adult Social Care team to better understand how people are getting ready for later life — and what support might help them prepare for it more effectively.

As we age, staying independent for as long as possible can make a real difference to our quality of life. The council is keen to work with services across Norfolk to support people in staying independent for as long as possible as they believe it can make a real difference to quality of life.

In order to do that, they want to know what matters most to you.

To share your experience, you can take part in a brief survey which asks:

  • What steps you are currently taking (or are planning to take) to prepare for later life
  • What challenges you face in preparing
  • What kind of information, services, or support you would find helpful

We are particularly keen to hear from people aged 55 and over who are not currently receiving regular support from social care services. That means you do not have carers visiting you regularly or live in a care home.

How do I share my experiences?

You can fill it it online by clicking the button below:

Or you can telephone us on 01953 856029.

If you require the survey in a different format  e.g. Large Print or braille, please email  [email protected] or telephone us on the number above.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and you do not have to give your name.

All the feedback we receive will be analysed and a report will be published with all our findings.

We will also report these back to Norfolk County Council to help them shape future services.
