Would you like to help shape the future of healthcare at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust (QEH)?
The QEH is inviting members of the public, patients, and Trust members to self-nominate and stand for election as governor. This is your chance to help shape the future of healthcare in our community, especially as we look ahead to the exciting developments planned for the New QEH by 2030.
Why become a governor?
As a Governor, you will:
- Shape the future of healthcare: Be part of the journey as we transform our hospital through the New QEH plans for 2030, ensuring the community’s voice is at the heart of this project.
- Make a real difference: Hold the Trust’s leadership to account and help improve patient care and services as we work to modernise healthcare for future generations.
- Gain valuable experience: Develop skills in governance and teamwork as part of the Council of Governors whilst enhancing your knowledge of the NHS and your local hospital.
- Your Commitment: Governors have duties to fulfil and meetings to attend but they can contribute as much time as they are able. Training and support is provided.
- Who can stand for election?
Anyone aged 16 or older can self-nominate and stand for election. As part of the process, you will need to be a member of the Trust and the easiest way is to apply online.
The QEH’s Chair, Chris Lawrence, said: “Health and care is such an important part of our lives and if you are interested in getting more involved in your NHS then becoming a public governor is a perfect opportunity.
Our governors act as the voice of residents and forge links with the communities we serve, ensuring that people’s views are front and centre of decisions that are made.”
